ODAKHA, operated by malamute Co., Ltd., is a knitwear brand by designer Mari Odaka. Originally launched as “malamute” in 2014, the brand was renamed ODAKHA starting from the 2023 Autumn/Winter collection, marking a new beginning.
Its strength lies in continuing Made-in-Japan manufacturing through collaboration with domestic knitwear factories and artisans. Collaborating with experts at every stage from material selection to knitting design and finishing, the brand refines expressions unique to knitwear, such as pattern designs and three-dimensional silhouettes.

Philosophy & Vision
Our brand concept is “Toughness and Softness.” While knitwear has a soft image, you can also create firmness and structure depending on the materials, knitting structure, and design. We incorporate these dual characteristics into our concept.
It is also our stance to challenge the limits of knitwear expression, revealing new expressions every season. Through ODAKHA, we want to convey the fascination of Japanese knitwear to more people and expand our reach both domestically and internationally.

Creator's Commitment
Our craftsmanship at ODAKHA does not end with drawing up a design. We value the process of designing from scratch together with experts to determine “how to knit to make this expression work.”
The core of this process is our close cooperation with programmers in Tokyo. We create swatches (test knits) repeatedly, relentlessly pursuing the limits of expression—from yarn selection to knit structure and stitch tension.
For example, a floral jacquard knit where a beautiful flare rises when worn. This is an expression that can only be realized through precise programming and the use of multiple materials. The key point of every season is how far we can refine it based on the artisan’s experience to complete it as a product.
Finally, it moves through processes such as sewing, finishing, and “linking,” a technique unique to knitwear. High-quality products take shape as professionals scattered across Tokyo pass the baton.
By combining the evolution of the latest machines with the skilled “hands” of artisans, we are shaping the “next” in knitwear that only ODAKHA can create.
