Wooden ”Touch me! Art Pens" and "Wood Postcards" use unique 3D printing technologies to reproduce famous works by artists such as Hokusai and van Gogh, expressing their delicate texture and feel in three dimensions. "Art Magnets" are upcycled magnets made with scrap pieces of Mino ware, one of Japan's three finest ceramics.

Each lineup of products features works of art from famous artists, both Japanese and foreign, including works whose themes are Edo and Tokyo, such as "Under the Wave off Kanagawa" (also known as "The Great Wave") and "Fine Wind, Clear Morning" by ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai, who was born in Edo in what is now the Sumida Ward; works from the One Hundred Famous Views of Edo by Utagawa Hiroshige, also from Edo; and prints from the Twelve Subjects of Tokyo series by printmaker Kawase Hasui from the early 20th century.
The unique nature of these products has been met with wide praise, and they are sold in numerous museums throughout Japan, such as the National Museum of Western Art.

Philosophy & Vision

Ethical Writing Materials with Art that's Fun to Look at and to Touch

Ethical Writing Materials with Art that's Fun to Look at and to Touch
In the past, pens have simply been thrown away, without being properly recycled. PENON was created out of a desire to develop products that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the achievement of carbon neutrality.

PENON develops sustainable products that are almost like wearable accessories, available at reasonable prices, that users can cherish for years to come.
Almost the entire manufacturing process is performed in PENON's own plant. Every year, PENON sells 100,000 ballpoint pens made with PEFC-certified wood, which requires that all trees felled be replaced by replanting an equivalent or greater number of new trees.

PENON not only wholesales products from its own lineup of wood and tile products printed with ukiyo-e prints and famous paintings, but also performs small lot OEM manufacturing of original designs and handles OEM commissions for original museum merchandise, company promotional items, and the like.

Take the first step in rewriting the future of our planet along with PENON, which is striving to protect the environment and contribute to a sustainable society through manufacturing.

Creator's Commitment

PENON Pens, Rewriting the Future

PENON Pens, Rewriting the Future
Penon CO., LTD. uses PEFC-certified wood, which requires that all trees felled be replaced by replanting an equivalent or greater number of new trees.
The more trees that are used, the more forests will grow, absorbing even more CO2.

Furthermore, it uses as little plastic as possible, aiming to become completely plastic-free, so the more widely PENON products are used, the more forests will grow.

There are many art-themed writing instruments made out of plastic in the world, but Penon CO., LTD. is unique and unparalleled thanks to the high level of added value it supplies.
