Ichikudo Printing has blazed a trail incorporating new technologies in the field of printing and processing for many years. In the 1960s, the company introduced cutting-edge equipment from overseas and entered the music-related field in earnest, focusing on LP jacket production. Our commitment to visual beauty and to the uplifting feeling one experiences the moment of holding a product, cultivated through these efforts, led to the development of paper CD jackets amid the wave of digitalization, and we have continued to pursue forms of expression unique to paper.
Utilizing the techniques honed in thick paper printing and processing, the company is currently developing its own original brand. Their original calendar series, continuing since 2003, is loved as a product line where users can enjoy the mechanism, structure, and texture.
Since 2020, Ichikudo has expanded its reach to general customers through online shops and exhibitions in Japan and abroad, extending the possibilities of paper to daily items such as the Obento (lunch box) Calendar, paper wallets, and accessories.

Philosophy & Vision
Our origins lie in the printing and processing of LP record jackets.
In a realm where not only visual beauty but also the texture when held and the precision of the finish are required, we have accumulated craftsmanship that meets customer expectations for quality.
That experience led to the development of paper CD jackets, and we have continued to refine elements such as the paper’s tactile quality and thickness, as well as the sense of depth created through folding and insert techniques, as essential values that support the artistic vision of each work. What we cherish is creating “value in holding” from both printing and processing perspectives by leveraging the texture, thickness, and structure of the paper.
With the power of printing and processing cultivated on-site, we expand the possibilities of paper and pursue the beauty and strength that can be achieved with paper.
We will continue to propose a "new standard for paper" that leads to surprise and joy.

Creator's Commitment
Our commitment lies in the printing and processing design to “make our products look beautiful while ensuring they work properly” using thick paper with a thickness of around 1 mm. Thick paper is easily affected by slight differences in dimensions or design, and the insertion structure requires a precise balance of being “not too tight, not too loose.”
Therefore, we go back and forth between paper selection, print expression, and the design of folds and insertions, repeating prototypes and adjustments to find the point where it assembles beautifully as a solid object. Beyond its refined appearance, it achieves a beautifully defined form when assembled and stands independently with presence when displayed—
working backward from that final form to refine the details is the essence of Ichikudo Printing’s craftsmanship.
