Tokyo Chainsaw's Hinohara Village Toys and Interiors
All raw materials are Tama region timber, which is designated as a local industrial resource by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
Until now, "root stumps" and "branches and leaves" that could not be commercialized were discarded as waste wood without being marketed. The idea was to make use of the whole tree, which had been planted and carefully nurtured one by one, if possible, and this led to the creation of toys, interior goods, and other woodcrafts that make use of the "whole tree”.
The products are full of the unique charm and beauty of the forest that only nature natural products can produce, such as the beautiful bark that appears when the bark is peeled off.
The single-flower vases made from thin logs of Japanese cedar and Japanese cypress grown in Tokyo have two facial expressions faces: one is smooth with polished bark and the other is rough and cracked. If placed near a window, this product can be enjoyed, including its deterioration over time.
