Creating projects major productions release
Although the company may be small, the creator, Osamu Fukutani, established it to pioneer the possibilities of video work, and to work on projects and themes that would be difficult for major productions to realize. “ARAGNE: Sign of Vermillion,” Zelicofilm’s first animated movie for the theaters, was created in 2018 with sole capital contribution. The film gained attention around the world. It was officially screened at Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market, one of the best animation film festivals in the world. It also was the only Japanese film that was nominated for a feature competition in the World Festival of Animated Film Animafest Zagreb, one of the four major animation film festivals.Zelicofilm also produces and distributes works, such as “LEY'S LINE” (Off Theater Grand Prix in the Michinoku International Mystery Film Festival) and “The Movie Kyofu no Omochikaeri.”Zelicofilm is currently working on “Amrita’s Feast,” a new spin-off of “ARAGNE: Sign of Vermillion” (Scheduled release in 2020). Several other projects are also in progress.

The new possibilities of animations created in Tokyo
The up-and-coming animation artist, Saku Sakamoto, worked as the director, wrote the main story and script, and created the music. He handled almost all the production process by himself. Osamu Fukutani worked on the direction and served as a producer. The attempt to create a high-quality, feature animation over 60 minutes, was almost unheard of in the world. It explores the new possibilities of animations created in Tokyo. The film gained attention around the world. It was officially screened at Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market, one of the best animation film festivals in the world. It also was the only Japanese film that was nominated for a feature competition in the World Festival of Animated Film Animafest Zagreb, one of the four major animation film festivals.Released in theaters, such as Cine Libre Ikebukuro, Cine Libre Umeda, and 109 Cinemas Nagoya from August, 2018. Blu-ray & DVD released in July, 2019.
